Information about Perth

Perth is the capital and largest city in Western Australia. Perth metropolitan area has an estimated population of 1.7 million and is fourth in population size in Australia.

It is estimated that it gets 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Perth is great for outdoor dining, sailing, cruising on the rivers, water-sports, golf, picnics in the many city and suburban parks or lazing on some of the country's best beaches.

Perth can even boast about having many, many McDonalds restaurants - no Spurs, but there is one 100km's south in Mandurah.

South Africans were the fifth largest of overseas-born residents in Perth in the 2006 census, with the U.K., New Zealand, Malaysia and Italy in front. That would have changed in the last five years as there has been a huge influx of South African immigrants to Perth during this period. You cannot blame them for picking Perth!

Perth is the second most popular choice for South Africans immigrating. Here are some handy links with all the information you need, but were too slack to look for yourself!
